The RDA and Developer executed a Disposition and Development Agreement on January 7, 2021 for the development of a two phase 144 unit mixed-income apartment development with the RDA selling the land at $1.00 per phase. Subsequent to Developer’s construction bids, Developer has requested to pay Fair Market Value, based on current appraisal, for the land to reduce the price per unit of the development.
The Redevelopment Agency (RDA) was created in 1986 to revitalize downtown Las Vegas and the surrounding aging commercial districts. The RDA works with developers, property owners and the community to recruit businesses, create new jobs, eliminate blight and diversify our economy.
“June 1, 2022 - RDA Board Meeting - Discussion for possible action regarding a First Amendment to Disposition and Development Agreement between the City of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency (RDA) and Community Development Programs Center of Nevada, Inc., (Developer) for a portion of the property located at 1501 North Decatur (APN 138-25-518-002) amending the purchase price to $2,380,000 - Redevelopment Area - Ward 5 (Crear)”
The city of Las Vegas currently has two designated redevelopment areas:
Designated Redevelopment Areas
Redevelopment Area 1 encompasses 3,948 acres. The area generally includes the greater downtown Las Vegas area east of Interstate 15, south of Washington Avenue, north of Sahara Avenue and west of Maryland Parkway. It also includes the corridors along Charleston Boulevard, Martin L. King Boulevard and Eastern Avenue.
Redevelopment Area 2 spans almost 1,050 acres covering Sahara from Interstate 15 to Decatur Boulevard, Charleston from Rancho Drive to Rainbow Boulevard and Decatur from Sahara to U.S. 95.
